Marcel Pordes
Biography
Marcel Pordes is a member of the Advisory Board of QuestMark Capital Management Sdn Bhd.
Mr. Pordes was also the Founder and Managing Director of Retail Concepts Asia Ltd., a company which helps Luxury Brands establish and build their business in Asia. Retail Concepts provides both strategic advice on a consulting basis, as well as actively setting up operations for selected brands to build their business in Asia. Retail Concepts currently has long term distribution rights for two leading international Luxury Brands, (i.) Caran d’ Ache, Maison de Haute Ecriture, and (ii.) Mauboussin, Joailler Artiste for selected countries in Asia.
Mr. Pordes has more than 10 years experience advising senior management of multi-national firms in strategic matters. His previous consulting experience includes managing strategy projects at Booz and Co., a leading international strategy consulting firm, as well as working with former Mc Kinsey Partners to build the Asian operations of a new independent consulting business.
Mr. Pordes has worked on market entry analysis, competitive analysis, acquisition analysis, post merger integration, turnaround projects and performance improvement projects.
He has led a number of strategy projects across various industries including financial services, confectionery, automobile, and airlines etc., in Asia, Europe and North America.
Prior to working in strategy consulting, Mr. Pordes was an operations Manager at Procter & Gamble. There he led a manufacturing operation that produced pre-mix for Procter & Gamble’s Beverages in Europe.
Education
Mr. Pordes was born and raised in Hong Kong. He has a BSE in Materials Science Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School.
