Biography

 

After listing two of his own companies as an entrepreneur, Raymond joined Questmark Capital Management Sdn Bhd last year as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence. He was an Executive Director for Redhot Media International Ltd. from 2007 to 2010. He managed the company’s business development, M&A and IPO exercise on AIM of London Stock Exchange. He was also previously the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Mexter Technology Berhad, listed on the Malaysia ACE market, and was in charge of the sales and operations, R&D, as well as corporate development of the company.  Currently, he also serves as an advisor to a China-base Education Group for its IPO exercise.  


Raymond has approximately 17 years of experience in the TMT, large-scale system engineering, education and advertising industries.  He honed his IT and engineering skill sets as a system engineer for a large-scale defense project, Malaysia Vessel Management System, and later moved to Siemens Electrical Engineering Sdn. Bhd. in 1997 as a Project Manager.  From 2001 to 2003, he switch to management consulting role as an e-Business Consultant in Cybertouch Sdn Bhd, a leading e-business consulting firm in Malaysia back in early 2000. Then in 2003, he moved on as a technopreneur and invested in technology startup and nurtured them towards IPO, constantly working together with venture capitalists and private equity funds.  Other than the two listed companies, Redhot and Mexter, Raymond has invested in a portfolio of 12 companies in education, e-commerce, RFID, energy, cloud computing and social media in Malaysia, China, Hong Kong and USA. 

 

Education

 

Raymond graduated with Dean List - Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Texas at Austin, USA.  He had also completed a Private Equity & Venture Capital Executive Program in Harvard Business School.
